Germany is the economic superpower of Europe. A  country ravaged by war by both the first and second world wars rose to become a true European giant. The German language is spoken by approximately 175-220 million people globally. The main speakers are spread across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg.

German is also an easier language to acquire for English speakers, as there is a lot of words that are common to the two languages, given that they share the same roots. Also German has always been the language of great scientists and thinkers- (e.g. Einstein!) and if you are of a scientific and/or inquisitive bent of mind- this is definitely your go to language!
